Meet Our Support Team

Anton Schumann

Hawks Nest Founder & Owner

I am the founder and owner/operator of Hawks Nest House. I have been in recovery since 2002. Six years ago, my recovery path led me to open this facility. Hawks Nest House was born out of the darkness; it would not exist if I had not hit bottom from active addiction. When I was fully defeated and surrendered, I became willing to abstain and follow instructions. With the help of treatment centers, sponsors, 12-step programs, amazing therapists, my two incredible sons, friends in recovery, long-suffering loved ones, and a strong and supportive family, I would not have survived.

I was born in Greece and then lived in Austria, growing up speaking German and English. When I was 10, we moved to the U.S., and I've lived in several places, but Nashville has been my home since 1997. I am comfortable in chaos and have a diverse background. Some noteworthy past experiences include being a certified Florida firefighter and EMT, a tech at a trauma center, having 10 years of experience in the hotel and restaurant business, and a career in sales and property management. I have also raised two teenage sons!

After spending years lost in active addiction, I finally hit bottom, which led me to a recovery program that eventually became the focal point of my life. I soon learned that we cannot keep something we do not give away. My life was saved by the recovery process therefore it’s an easy choice to have a small part in possibly saving another man’s life.

I did not choose addiction; it chose me. In active addiction, I had no choice, so today I choose recovery every day. I am committed to staying sober and living a life of recovery alongside the residents. My heart, hands, and feet are at Hawks Nest House.

Maggie Gale

Yoga teacher and Somatic Healer

Maggie is a USMC Veteran, 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and Certified Somatic Healer dedicated to helping others reconnect with their bodies and reclaim their sense of wholeness. But beyond the certifications and titles, she is someone deeply passionate about the mind-body connection and the profound ways movement and awareness can facilitate healing.

Her journey with yoga began nearly a decade ago as a means to manage anxiety and maintain her athletic abilities. What started as a physical practice soon evolved into a path of self-discovery, guiding her through therapy, 12-step recovery, and ultimately, somatic healing. Experiencing firsthand how deeply stored trauma, stress, and emotions manifest in the body, Maggie became committed to sharing holistic tools that empower others to heal.

Her approach combines the wisdom of yoga, the science of somatic healing, and nervous system regulation techniques to help clients cultivate deeper awareness, resilience, and self-compassion. Through movement, breathwork, and embodied practices, she supports individuals in breaking free from old patterns and stepping into greater ease and authenticity.

Whether in group classes, one-on-one sessions, or workshops, Maggie’s mission is to create a safe, supportive space where people can reconnect with themselves, regulate their nervous system, and ultimately transform their lives from the inside out.
